Accept the Mission, Value the Journey

Man following his trail (Valna Studio)

Life is made of many missions, but only one journey.

We long for a map that covers the entire journey, hoping for more clarity along the way. We search in every way to fast-forward the future and live out what we imagine to be our destiny.

We live as if we could somehow reach the end of the journey and understand what life is made of and what its true meaning is. A time jump, perhaps? A peek into the future and back in time to redo a mission…

All of this leads us into a world of impossible possibilities. A hypothetical future where we can be everything, but also nothing. Tomorrow's lottery ends up distorting our mind, which can't organize the multiverse of madness.

What do we need in this moment? A neutralizer — but not to erase what we've already lived. The past needs to become meaning. The present needs purpose. The future needs to be experienced in its mysteries.

James Darrel Edwards III only understood his journey when he revisited his past and saw his father die as a hero. In that moment, his life as Agent J gained meaning and purpose.

Perhaps you're not fulfilling your missions at your full potential because you're lost in your journey, trying to give meaning to something that hasn't happened yet.

You can't build the journey front to back, but you can give it meaning back to front. Remember: the journey is a succession of missions, successful or not. Focus on the missions, and the journey will be revealed. That's the beauty of life!
